How service providers can prepare for WiMAX

The WiMAX Forum held in Amsterdam in June was predominantly focused on the technology, as no one standard has yet emerged for the mass market. As a result, the WiMAX market still remains fragmented.

Traditional ISPs are investing in WiMAX at present, but very soon mobile service providers will follow to take advantage of the potential for increased bandwidth, in conjunction with other technologies.

eServGlobal can offer service providers WiMAX-ready services to move quickly into this new area, with charging, payment, message and virtual private network (VPN) solutions which can be easily installed to reduce time-to-market.

Thanks to the large variety of protocols supported by ChargingMax, service providers can benefit from flexible real-time charging for any kind of event on WiMAX, such as pay-per-view, video-on-demand, or premium content services, with very attractive service bundles, drawn from the extensive ChargingMax Service Library. ChargingMax also ensures voice call continuity for seamless mobility between many different kinds of handsets.

A multiplay operator with a WiMAX network can benefit from integrated recharging, with the voucher scenarios provided by Payment Suite. For example, a single voucher can be used to recharge accounts spread over both legacy and WiMAX network environments.

The Mailis Suite offers unified communication for WiMAX by allowing subscribers to access all their messages via any device, whether they are voice, video, email, fax or SMS messages. Service providers can earn more revenue by providing SMS terminating services to email or IM, thereby connecting to the fast-growing world of instant messaging. NumberMax VPN provides converged VPN services for call sessions (PSTN, mobile, VoIP), and messages (SMS).

Boost call traffic with Integrated Missed Call Alert (iMCA)

Uncompleted calls are common, as subscribers are often out of coverage or have their phones switched off. Service providers who are looking for ways to improve their call completion and call return ratios now have an integrated solution to reduce the load on the network and increase the number of successful calls, creating additional call traffic.

eServGlobal has combined elements from NumberMax and Mailis Suite to produce the packaged solution Integrated Missed Call Alert. This allows subscribers to be notified via SMS when they have missed a call, and the identity of the caller, without ever receiving a voice call. It is also possible to alert the subscriber when the caller is available again, to further stimulate the successful call rate.

The end-user interface includes excellent privacy control, and all aspects of the service are easily configured for the best possible delivery. In future, further revenue can be generated through adding sponsorship content to the alert messages.

Integrated Missed Call Alert can be offered as a separate service from voicemail, providing an additional source of revenue and improving subscriber satisfaction. Integrated Missed Call Alert can operate independently from voicemail, to intercept missed calls that don't even go to voicemail, reducing the load on the network. The notification messages can be generated direct from Mailis, reducing the load on the SMSC.

Installed easily with existing eServGlobal solutions, on any type of network, Integrated Missed Call Alert requires minimal additional infrastructure and can be easily integrated with existing solutions to reduce OPEX. It can also be bundled with other value-added services to increase the return on investment.
