eServGlobal attended the Global Messaging forum on
5 and 6 June in Monaco. There, we gave a presentation
entitled "Taking the best of both worlds from legacy
to IMS: Ensuring service continuity and new service
capabilities".
With the emergence of IM (Instant Messaging), customers
have increasing expectations of instant delivery. The
eServGlobal MessageMax solution provides SMS
(Short Message Service) termination to IM, compatible
with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)-based IM systems.
Similar services for email will be available in future
releases.
Providing new ways to receive SMS messages will have
benefits for both mobile and broadband operators, by
increasing the SMS traffic sent on mobile operators
networks, and associated revenue. Using MessageMax will
also give internet service providers the opportunity
to collect termination fees for SMS messages.
The eServGlobal MessageMax solution provides a gateway
towards instant messaging systems, allowing operators
to offer additional services to their customers, as
well as bridge legacy and NGN (Next Generation Networking)
networks.
MessageMax offers additional strength to operators
to handle SMS anti-fraud and anti-spam services, to
guarantee that SMS will remain a desirable communication
tool. The solution intercepts and filters traffic with
rules based on originating address, keywords, and identical
content, among others.
To provide more value to customers, in future the MessageMax
solution can be integrated with an existing or new M@ilis
installation to provide a unified storage facility for
all incoming messages.
Messaging applications for IMS networks should take
into account the existing installed base by providing
some bridges between the legacy and the new networks.
Integrating the MessageMax solution will allow operators
to rationalise investments, operations and to obtain
better features, more capacity, scalability and security.
