Foundation of FERMA
FERMA (Française d’Électronique, Recherche et Mathématiques), later acquired by eServGlobal, was founded in France on the strength of patents regarding text-to-speech synthesis, signal processing and large-capacity Voice Systems design.
developed peripheral devices to converse with a computer from the old fashioned dial telephones (using PSTN) or to help the blind. These devices were used for teaching, access to sound database, interactive voice guide, Teletel servers for the blind, ads and information broadcasts.
FERMA develops the vocal interface of OPERATOR, a radio messaging device proposed by TDF Radio Services. It is able to process 70 simultaneous calls.
Launch of Divaphone
First Content Services
FERMA provides Content Services for France’s National Meteorology Service with an interactive voice response system able to deal with more than 200 simultaneous calls: “ALLO METEO”
Launch of Divaphone 2
DIVAPHONE product line (audiovideotex voice servers) continues to grow with DIVAPHONE 2. Ferma is the only company in the world to be able to transmit messages from dial phones with direct phone lines.
In 1990 FERMA was already connecting the banking industry to the phone through a pioneering product which allowed customers to interact with their bank account via a telephone. Widely adopted by leading banks.
eServ Limited was founded in Sydney, Australia as a provider of enterprise hardware, technical services and software solutions. The company would later change its name to eServGlobal Limited.
Launch of Divaphone 3
FERMA launches DIVAPHONE 3 which can facilitate up to 900 accesses, speech recognition and TTS.
FERMA introduces VoiceMail in FRANCE TELECOM BI-BOP and ITINERIS GSM networks (Oct-Nov. 93).
Strong Network Operator Growth
FERMA reinforces its positioning in the telco market with the PROLOGOS network, SFR network, then with TELKOMSEL voice mail service.
FERMA delivers IVR worldwide
With several thousand installed systems, FERMA focuses on delivering enhanced and flexible solutions to offer a wide range of high-level services, such as Interactive Voice Response, Teleconferencing Bridge, Intelligent Peripheral and Service Node, Integrated Unified Plurimedia Mail system, Call Center, Telephony Gateway and WWW.
Simpati Prepaid Service in Indonesia
Launch of “simPATI” Pre-Paid service for TELKOMSEL, Indonesia’s largest cellular operator, based on scratch card recharge vouchers (over an IN platform).
eServ joins with G8 Labs
eServ Limited merges with G8 Labs, a Wellington based provider of technical services and software to the telecommunications industry.
eServ Limited changes its name to eServGlobal Limited to reflect its transformation into a global company with operations in Australia, UK, US, Hong Kong and New Zealand. The company secures significant Intelligent Network (IN) software licence and implementation projects with major carriers in Denmark and Belgium.
Fusion: eServGlobal acquires FERMA
FERMA SA became part of eServGlobal, following an acquisition valued at €38 million. The combination of the two companies provides a unique capability to deliver end-to-end solutions for all interactive communications and advanced services.
Following the integration of FERMA, eServGlobal continues to grow its worldwide footprint with a consolidated offering.
Oracle USP transaction
eServGlobal’s successful USP business was acquired by Oracle.

Launch of PayMobile
Building on more than 20 years experience in the telco and finance worlds, eServGlobal cements its position as a leading solution provider with the launch of its comprehensive mobile money platform, PayMobile.
Mobile Money in Indonesia
eServGlobal’s PayMobile solution was launched by financial service provider, mCoin Asia to facilitate money transfer in Indonesia, demonstrating the solutions ability to adapt to both telco and financial institutions.
eServGlobal & Wincor Nixdorf
eServGlobal and Wincor Nixdorf announce an agreement to integrate eServGlobal’s mobile money capabilities with Wincor Nixdorf’s extensive ATM portfolio.
Mobile Bill Payment in Nepal
Nepal Telecom announces that eServGlobal’s bill payment facility, installed earlier in the year, is exceeding expectations and generating impressive results in the first months of service.
